DON BUTLER
Guitarists for "Just Imagine the Show"

Don's professional career started when he was 19 in L.A & Hollywood. Don joined a great band called "Reverend Boogie, featuring guitarist Rick Vito and bassist Bob Glaub. In the `70's & `80's Don was living in Texas and played with Sam Neely who at that time was on MCA Records. Don did a lot of session work during that period as well and playing on three LP's for Freddy Fender and a number of major Spanish artists and local rock & blues bands.

Over the last few years Don has appeared with and played with many great musicians such as Jimmy Vivino from Conan O'Brian, Coco Montoya, the Yardbirds, Gordon Waller from Peter & Gordon, Chris Montez (who toured with The Beatles in 1962), Spencer Davis, members of The Allman Bros Band & Govt. Mule to name a few. Don also played with Paul Shortino's Rhythm Junkies. Paul was "Duke Fame" in "This is Spinal Tap" and was a member of "Quiet Riot" and Ruff Cutt. Bangers". Don also rejoined from time to time, with his first band from 1971 called "Reverend Boogie" with co-founder Stormy Rice (Stormy was with the legendary Michigan band "The Woolies"). Stormy and Don are also working on an acoustic project. Don contributed a track to former Journey leader Robert Fleischman's newest CD (2007) called "When You're Not Around".

Don is on the Editorial Board for "The Tonequest Report" magazine and has been a contributor to Vintage Guitar magazine. Don has had a small repair shop in his home since 1997 and repairs, mods and customizes amps, guitars and some pedals. He specializes in Vintage British made valve (tube) equipment as well as early Fender & Gibson amps as well as Vintage (& Reissue) Gibson, Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Epiphone & Fender Guitars. His shop is aptly named Toneman, Inc. (www.tone-man.com). Some of his customers include Robin Trower, John Fogerty, Elliot Easton, Daniel Lanois, Derek Trucks, Peter Stroud just to name a few…
